Our Media team is looking for a Transcriptionist to manage transcription and coordination of transcription tasks of multimedia material. Script formatting and quality control of source scripts. The ideal candidate should have excellent hearing and writing skills, as well as being an English native with great attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Typing either from an audio file or video file, or updating/revising/correcting client provided documents in different formats.

  • Time cueing and positioning text in various subtitle software to time source text to source audio/video for subtitling or voice over projects.

  • Research words/names/concepts/facts: using dictionaries, online dictionaries or search engines (e.g. Google, etc.)

  • Data entry: typing numbers, names, addresses from the source document or replicating on-screen text/graphics from source video to an editable format.

  • Formatting in Microsoft Word (e.g. tables, organizational charts, etc.)

  • Occasionally pre-translation preparation of documents.

  • Using the search function to look for previous documents/files that may be leveraged for new projects (e.g. similar text, etc.)

  • Spell checking external transcription vendor’s work.

  • Juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Understand and abide by individual project instructions.

  • Update internal project management systems to confirm project status and coordinate with global production teams.

  • Reviewing inaudible portions from external transcription resources’ work.

  • Working on Media (subtitling, voice over, graphic replacement) projects from beginning to an end.

  • Final checking deliverable files against the source to make sure product meets client needs/specifications.

  • Ensuring deadlines are met with the vendors and coordination of the work with other production departments.

  • Preparing job folders and files for translation, managing media templates.

  • Issuing POs for vendors.

  • Carrying out linguistic final eyes.

  • Complete all other tasks as assigned by a manager. 

Who We Are Looking For:

Your experience includes:

  • Native fluency in English

  • Must have previous typing, dictation or transcription experience

  • Typing speed of 60+ words per minute

  • Must possess strong attention to detail

  • Strong MS Office/computer skills

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Effective time management

  • Good communication skills

  • Proactive, can-do attitude
